FAQ

1) What is your price for my car battery? Batteries have a wide range of pricing due to several different factors. It’s not the size and shape as much as the quality of the materials used that will make the price differ. We have numerous quality batteries available for every vehicle and prices can range from $35.99 up to $250 or more for the same size battery. So depending on the needs of your car, the conditions it is subjected to, the length of warranty you desire and your budget, we will find the most affordable solution for your situation.

2) How do I jump start my vehicle with a 12v Battery? To be safe, we would ask that you refer to the manufacture’s recommended method in the vehicles owner’s manual.  Yet this procedure is simple enough when some caution is exercised.  Using a set of quality JUMPER CABLES, connect one end of the clamps, generally marked red for the positive side (connect this one first) and black for the negative side (connect this one last) to the dead battery,  then connect the opposite end of the Positive cable to the positive side of the other vehicle’s battery, and connect the Negative/ground side to an Engine Bolt or other grounding surface rather than the battery’s terminal (NOW START the VEHICLE being used to jump start the dead battery).  Depending on the drain to the dead battery, you may need to wait a few minutes before the battery has sufficient electricity to start the dead vehicle. You can also increase the engine RPM of the running vehicle so the alternator is producing extra voltage. Once the dead vehicle has started, disconnect the black/negative cable and then the red one (do not allow these to touch each other as sparks can be generated), remove the cables from the other vehicle in the same order and you should be on your way. If your vehicle has a manual transmission and the battery is not completely dead, you may also be able to perform a compression start. By pushing the car while in first or second gear (with the clutch pedal pressed down) once the car is rolling forward with a little speed, let up on the clutch pedal quickly. If all else fails, call one of our four locations!

3) Should I replace my serpentine or v-drive belt when I replace my alternator? While we may recommend you do this, your belt may be in perfect condition. A thorough examination of the belt for cracking, scoring, heat marks or stretching is recommended to determine if it can or should be reused.
